Welcome to the New Charity Roadtrip 2012 Web Site, after three very successful European fundraising events as the Hospice Roadtrippers and having raised over 40K for our local Hospices in Sussex it’s time for a change. For 2012 we have a new direction with this tried and tested fundraising Roadtrip formula.

The next chosen Charity is WellChild, The National Charity for Sick Children. The reason the Roadtrip has chosen WellChild is that they help sick children and their families throughout the UK to manage the consequences of serious illness and complex health conditions through their programme of care, support and research. WellChild will direct all of the monies raised by us into the research of  Wolfram Syndrome. This is very significant to us as a group, as one of our long term Roadtrip fundraisers has a 10 year old daughter who has recently been diagnosed with this very rare genetic disorder. 100% of the funds raised by the Charity Roadtrip 2012 will be dedicated to research into Wolfram Syndrome.

Our next event will be in May 2012: This will be a UK based Roadtrip around some of the most challenging and picturesque roads within the United Kingdom. As WellChild is a National Children’s Charity we have organized a themed event for 2012.

This years Roadtrip Challenge will be to summit Mount Snowdon which is the highest mountain in Wales, and the highest point in the British Isles outside Scotland at over 3,500ft high. We will endeavour to achieve this goal dressed as well known children’s characters from past and present which should make for an interesting photo opportunity at the summit.

This years Roadtrip organisers are VERY HAPPY that Milly Luxford from Spirit FM has agreed to participate in this years Roadtrip dressed as Jessica Rabbit !!!!!

Although for some completely unexplained reason the Chairman is going to summit Mount Snowdon dressed as Nessa the Nurse  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
